| Dear Teachers,
Isn’t it wonderful to
give students the opportunity to feel important? To know
that their opinions are valuable? Empowering kids is what
Kids Voting is all about. We give them the chance to feel
their voice has worth by giving them the opportunity to cast
a ballot on Election Day.
Kids Voting Georgia/Bibb
County invites you to send your students to the polls.
We’ll provide you the Kids Voting USA Curriculum© for
grades K through 12 free. This curriculum is chock full of
hands-on activities to foster information-gathering and
decision making skills, as well as an opportunity to promote
respect for diverse opinions. Then on Election Day Kids
Voting Georgia/Bibb County precincts will be open for your
students to vote on the same candidates and issues as the
adults.
The
following pages are excerpts from the Kids Voting Georgia/Bibb
County Teacher's Handbook, the companion to the Kids Voting
USA Curriculum©. If your school does not have the curriculum,
please contact the Kids Voting office at 478-621-6622.
Establishing good voting
habits and learning how to research candidates and issues
are essential if we are to secure the future of democracy.
These skills begin with you, the teachers. We salute you
because you are the power behind the program.
Arizona White
Director, Kids Voting Georgia/Bibb County
