If
your group has at least 6 or more willing volunteers who
can each commit to a few hours of work on election day in
November, you can adopt a precinct! Your group will
be responsible for staffing the special Kids Voting booths
at an official polling site on the day of the election.
The Kids Voting polls are open from 7 A.M. - 9 A.M. &
from 3 P.M. - 7 P.M. The polls must be staffed in
shifts of two volunteers. We will also ask one representative
from your group to attend a one hour Precinct Captain Training
Session to be held the week prior to the election.
Your group will help set up
special Kids Voting booths, distribute ballots to the kids
who come to your polling place, give each child an "I
Voted" sticker, and make sure the day is a
success! Volunteers tell us "To be able to see
voting through the eyes of a child was a great
experience." We hope your club will consider
adopting a precinct. This volunteer opportunity is
completed in one day, but will make a difference in our
community for generations to come and will make your club's
members feel good about helping children. Just let us
know that you want to get involved.
