United States :
President and Vice President:
Required by the Constitution to be at least 35 years of age, reside in the United States for the past 14 years and be a natural born U.S. citizen. This office is held for a 4-year term.
U.S. Senators:
Required to be at least 30 years of age, reside in the state they represent and be a U.S. citizen for at least 9 years. This office is held for a 6-year term.
U.S. Representative:
Required to be at least 25 years of age, reside in the state they represent and be a U.S. citizen for at least 7 years. This office is held for a 2-year term.
State of Georgia :
Governor:
Required to be at least 30 years of age, reside in Georgia for six years immediately preceding the election, and be a U.S. citizen for at least 15 years. This office is held for a 4-year term.
Lieutenant Governor:
Required to be at least 30 years of age, reside in Georgia for six years immediately preceding the election and be a U.S. citizen for at least 15 years. This office holds a 4-year term.
Secretary of State:
Required to be at least 25 years of age, reside in Georgia for four years immediately preceding the election, and be a U.S. citizen for at least 10 years. This office is held for a 4-year term.
State Representative:
Required to be at least 21 years of age, a U.S. citizen, reside in Georgia for at least 2 years and reside within the district they represent for one year. This office is held for a 2-year term.
State Senators:
Required to be at least 25 years of age, a U.S. citizen, reside in Georgia for at least 2 years and within the district they represent for at least a year. This office is held for a 2-year term.
Judges of the Probate Court:
Required to be at least 25 years of age, a U.S. citizen and reside in the county for 2 years. In counties with a population of over 100,000, the judge must be 30 years of age and have practiced law for 7 years. This office is held for a 4-year term.
Judges of the Superior Court:
Required to be at least 30 years of age, a U.S. citizen and resident to 3 years. They must have practiced law for 7 years and reside in the geographical area they are to serve.
Sheriff:
Required to be at least 25 years of age, a U.S. citizen, a resident of Georgia and Bibb County for 1 year and be a high school graduate. This office is held for a 4-year term.
Tax Commissioner:
Required to be at least 25 years of age, a U.S. citizen, a resident of Bibb County for 1 year and be a high school graduate. This office is held for a 4-year term.
Coroner:
Required to be at least 25 years of age, a U.S citizen, a resident of Bibb County for 1 year and be a high school graduate. This office is held for a 4-year term.
Commissioner:
Required to be at least 21 years of age, a U.S. citizen, reside in Bibb County for 1 year and be a high school graduate. This office is held for a 4-year term.
School Board:
Required to be a U.S. citizen and live in the district they represent, may not be employed by the school system or be a member of a private school. This office is held for a 4-year term.
Water Board:
Required to be at least 21 years of age, a U.S. citizen, reside in Georgia for at least 1 year, and be a high school graduate. This office is held for a 6-year term.
City of Macon
Mayor:
Required to be at least 25 years of age, a U.S citizen, a resident of Bibb County for 2 years and of Macon for 1 year. This office is held for a 4-year term.
City Council:
Required to be at least 21 years of age, a U.S. citizen, a resident of Macon for 2 1/2 years and reside in the district they represent for at least 1 year. This office is held for a 4-year term.
