For the
September 20 vote for the Local Option Sales Tax for Education or ELOST, Bibb
County will be participating in a Kids Voting USA online voting project. Students
will have an opportunity to cast their vote with an online ballot. Unique features
of this system include:
For security, each student has an individual Student Voting Number.
Students can access the ballot from any computer with Internet access.
The ballot mirrors the official adult ballot.
Results will be posted online for students to view with their parents.

has one question:

build and repair schools in Bibb County?

Roles and Responsibilities
Step
1: Registration and Student Voting Numbers - Begins Tuesday
September
6 th .
- To register and obtain Student Voting Numbers
go to: www.doubleclickdemocracy.org/kvbibb/teacher
- Click on “New Teacher Registration” then enter
your school's zip code.
- Follow the instructions to register your class.
- Enter the number of students in your class.
Please provide us with an accurate number of students. You will be sent 20%
extra Student Voting numbers for new students or lost numbers. You may re-enter
the system to request additional voting numbers for a class previously registered,
register another class and/or download voting numbers you have already requested.
- Student Voting Numbers will be automatically
emailed to you.
- Print two copies – enlarge one set to cut
up and distribute to the students and on the other write down the name of
the student assigned to each number.
- If you teach different grades, register each
grade separately. First register one grade then, using “Request Additional
Voting Numbers”, add the other grades.
- If you teach a class with more than 200 students,
first register for 200 students, then using “Request Additional Voting Numbers”,
add the numbers for the remaining students.
- If you teach the same grade at different schools,
register only once and request numbers for all students.
Step
2: Provide opportunity for students to vote.
- To access the ballot, students will need:
1. Student Voting Number
2. For this vote we will designate our Congressional
District Number as 1
- Distribute Student Voting Numbers at the beginning
of the official voting period.
- Voting period begins Monday, September 13 th
at 7:00 am.
- Voting closes Tuesday, September 20 th at 7:00
pm.
- Students go to: www.kidsvotingbibb.org
- Students click on the DoubleClick Democracy
icon and then the “Vote Here” button.
- Students should enter Congressional District
number 1.
- To record their votes, students click the green
“Vote” box at the end of their ballot. Once they click “Vote” their Student
Voting Number is used and no longer valid. They will not be able to access
the system again with that number.
If students
have not clicked the “Vote” box, and exit the ballot, they may re-enter and
start again with the same voting number.
Step
3: Encourage students and parents to view voting results.
- Go to: www.kidsvotingbibb.org
- Click the DoubleClick Democracy button,
then click the “Results” button to access the results.
